State Street makes management changes

State Street has appointed William Freda to its board of directors and Michael Rogers as president and COO.

Freda recently retired from Deloitte, where he served many of the organisation’s clients and maintained relationships, acting as a strategic liaison to the marketplace as well as to professional and community organisations.

He previously acted as Deloitte’s regional managing partner for the northeast and led Deloitte’s global and US financial services industry practice.

Joseph Hooley, chairman, president and CEO of State Street, commented: “His distinguished track record of performance serving global companies and his extensive experience with corporate governance, risk management and public policy will add to our board’s expertise.”

Rogers has experience in leading asset servicing and trading businesses. Since joining the firm he has held a number of leadership positions including head of its investment servicing business in the Americas and research and trading business globally.

As president and COO, in addition to his current responsibilities, Rogers will have overall accountability for information technology, global operations and State Street’s global exchange business.

Hooley said: “He has been instrumental to our past success and I have no doubt he will continue to make a strong impact on our future.”
