Vistra expands Cayman team

Corporate trust and fund administration provider Vistra has hired Clive Gibbons as resident managing director for the Cayman Islands.

The appointment is part of Vistra’s expansion of operations on the islands, in response to growing demand in the region.

Gibbons has over 15 years’ experience in offshore banking, trust and corporate services, and has worked in Guernsey, the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and London. He joins Vistra from TMF Cayman where he was head of business development, and he is also a member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association.

Simon Filmer, managing director of Vistra BVI with regional responsibility, said: “While Cayman is known as the leading funds jurisdiction, we are seeing increased demand for limited partnership and other more sophisticated structures, as requested by international investors.”

“Demand from Asia in particular has grown significantly in 2015, with Cayman incorporation numbers up by 40%. It is therefore an optimum time to expand our operations.”
