Simmons & Simmons expands London presence

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has appointed Khasruz Zaman as a partner in its corporate and commercial practice.

Zaman joins the firm’s London office, which is currently being expanded.

Confirmation of the appointment is still pending standard regulatory approval.

Zaman specialises in merger and acquisition (M&A) and corporate finance transactions in the financial institutions sector. He was previously head of the M&A legal team at Barclays and has extensive experience in both domestic and cross-border banking and other M&A transactions.

Mark Curtis, head of the firm’s international corporate and commercial group, said: “We are pleased to welcome Khasruz to our corporate practice.”

“His arrival marks the continued development and investment in our current M&A capability and expertise, while bringing real insight and industry strength to financial institutions as one of our five key sector priorities.”
