HSBC creates data and digital chief role

HSBC has appointed Paul Clark to the newly created position of head of data and digital for the bank’s securities services business, effective 1 January 2017.

The new role is intended to combine the management of ecommerce products with new initiatives around data and digital innovations.

Based in London, Clark will report to John Van Verre, global head of custody at HSBC Securities Services.

Clark has been with HSBC for 12 years and is moving on from his current role as portfolio director for middle-office, custody, treasury and ecommerce products.

Previously, he led implementation of the HSBC Securities Services middle-office programme.

Before joining HSBC, he held positions at National Australia Bank and Gartmore Fund Managers.
