Arkera hires Townsend Lansing as CCO

Arkera, a new AL-powered platform that helps self-directed investors make investment decisions, has hired Townsend Lansing as chief commercial officer.

Lansing has spent a decade in the growing exchange-traded fund (ETF) sector, and he will oversee the deployment of Arkera’s ETF platform for brokers and retail investors in Europe and North America.

Most recently, Lansing served as head of exchange-traded commodities at ETF Securities. Across a number of leadership roles, he held responsibility over the firm’s ETF offering.

Prior to ETF Securities, Lansing was vice president of product development at Bank of America.

Vinit Sahni, co-CEO at Arkera, commented: “We are very excited to have Lansing on board. He brings a wealth of knowledge in financial products and ETFs, an extensive experience across the wider asset management business, and strong commercial acumen. His appointment takes us one step closer to achieving our mission of giving anyone the best investing experience and to empower exciting investment decisions.”

Commenting on his new role, Lansing said: “Arkera is tackling a fundamental problem in markets today; how to decipher a complex, jargon-filled investment landscape that leads to decision paralysis among retail investors; while on the other hand, fixing the problem of client engagement brokers face each day.”

He added: “ETFs offer a cost-effective, highly liquid investment vehicle that helps bridge the gap. I look forward to working closely with the team to build commercial partnerships as well as a growing community of users empowered to make better-informed investment decisions."
