Previously, Taylor was also elected vice president/secretary-treasurer of the statewide Service Employees International Union Local 1000.

Meanwhile, Miller is serving his first term on the CalPERS Board of Administration.

He brings to his role over 25 years of public service specialising in environmental regulatory programmes, pollution prevention, environmental technology development, and performance management.

Miller is currently employed as a senior environmental scientist with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control.

Other Finance and Administrative Committee members are Margaret Brown, Henry Jones, Fiona Ma, Jason Perez and Betty Yee.

In total, CalPERS board has elected committee chairs and vice chairs to guide four board committees for the year ahead, including Investment Committee, Risk and Audit Committee, and Performance, Compensation and Talent Management Committee.
