BNP Paribas gains fund services mandate for Harvest Global Investments’ ESG ETF

BNP Paribas Securities Services has been appointed to provide fund services for Harvest Global Investments’ new CSI 300 environmental, social and governance (ESG) Leaders Index exchange-traded fund (ETF).

Harvest is one of the largest Chinese institutional asset managers by assets under management, serving both institutional and retail clients.

As part of this mandate, BNP Paribas will provide a range of fund services including global custody, fund administration, trustee, transfer agent and participating dealer.

BNP Paribas says the mandate highlights its commitment to facilitating the transition to a low-carbon, sustainable economy by helping institutional clients develop their sustainable product range.

Thomas Kwan, chief investment officer at Harvest Global Investments, comments: “The Harvest CSI 300 ESG Leaders Index leverages Harvest’s proprietary ESG framework to identify ESG factors material to the China onshore market.”

According to Kwan, it provides investors with a more sustainable exposure to China’s A-share market while offering the potential for additional alpha.

Julien Kasparian, head of BNP Paribas Securities Services Hong Kong, states: “Our longstanding relationship with Harvest and our experience in helping clients invest in China allowed us to create a solution for Harvest.”

“We have helped them pioneer the use of new fund vehicles in recent years and are delighted to support their first ESG ETF. This aligns with our goals to support our clients’ sustainable investments,” adds Kasparian.
