Pedro Guazo has joined Northern Trust Asset Management as head of international and responsible investing.
Set to join the firm in August, he will be leading the asset management business in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, as well as the firm’s global responsible investing platform.
Following regulatory approvals, Guazo will also be appointed as CEO of Northern Trust Global Investments.
He joins from the Office of Investment Management at the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund, where he was the CEO for five years. Guazo also served on the Investor Advisory Group for the International Sustainability Standards Board, as part of his 30 years experience in corporate governance across a number of global financial institutions.
Daniel Gamba, president of Northern Trust Asset Management, says: “Pedro’s experience in leading large and complex organisations around the globe, his successful track record managing large pools of assets, and his extensive responsible investing background make him perfectly suited to lead our business in Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific.”
