Waystone, a provider of specialist services to the global asset management industry, has announced that its Luxembourg Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) platform, Waystone UCITS Platform (Lux) Investment Company with Variable Capital, has been approved by the Luxembourg Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF) for the integration of an ETF operating model.

This enables the launch of ETFs alongside traditional UCITS products, offering international asset managers a ‘plug-and-play' solution for market entry into Luxembourg.

According to the specialist service provider, it has recently seen a sharp increase in demand for its ETF platform solutions, particularly from active managers who see significant value in accessing a complementary set of capabilities.

Waystone says that Luxembourg was selected due to its position as a cross-border fund domicile and that the platform is fully ETF-ready and underpinned by a high-quality operational and regulatory framework.

Paul Heffernan, CEO at Waystone ETFs comments: “The ETF conversation has fundamentally shifted — clients are no longer asking whether they need an ETF strategy, but how quickly they can bring one to market.

“We’re seeing strong demand from institutional managers based in the US, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australasia who want to focus their efforts on product development and distribution, while relying on us to provide the right operational framework.

“Expanding our platform in Luxembourg allows us to meet that demand at scale, and continue aligning our services to where our clients see the greatest opportunity.”

“Luxembourg has long been recognised as a leading cross-border fund domicile, and the recent momentum around ETFs is another example of its ability to innovate and adapt. The regulatory environment, infrastructure and market appetite are all aligning to make Luxembourg a compelling ETF hub,” adds Denis Harty, country head of continental Europe.
