Allianz Australia (Allianz) has appointed HSBC as global custodian and fund administrator.

HSBC will provide custodial and fund administration services to both the general and life insurance business of Allianz.

Allianz selected HSBC following a competitive tender designed to identify a securities services provider with the capabilities and network to meet their needs.

Treasurer at Allianz, Fuad Islam, says: “We are pleased to work with HSBC in Australia. As a global provider of financial services, HSBC has experience, scale, and infrastructure to consistently and efficiently meet our needs.”

Nick Wheeler, head of markets and securities services, Australia and New Zealand, at HSBC adds: “We are pleased to partner with Allianz Australia and provide custody and fund administration services.

“Allianz is one of Australia’s leading personal and commercial insurance providers, with approximately four million customers across the country. This mandate underlines the strength of the HSBC’s securities services offering and demonstrates our continued focus on the Australian market.”
