State Street opens Copenhagen office

State Street has strengthened its presence in the Nordic region with the opening of an office in Copenhagen.

The new office will initially focus on financial services solutions targeting asset owners, asset managers and insurance companies.

The ceremonial opening was attended by US ambassador to Denmark, Rufus Gifford, as well as some of the largest Danish pension funds and insurance companies.

Stefan Gmür, executive vice president and head of sector solutions for State Street in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) said: “State Street is already positioned as a financial services provider in the region, but the opening of this new office reinforces our commitment to the Nordic market.”

“Our Copenhagen office will deepen our overall Nordic reach, strengthen our focus on growing our business within this region, and allow us to engage with our Nordic clients more frequently.”

Gifford said: “One of my goals as ambassador is to grow the cooperation and partnership between the US and Denmark.”

“Expanding free trade and the exchange of services, including financial services, is an important way to help both countries prosper.”
