Komainu has added custody support for YLDS, the SEC-registered yield-bearing security issued by Figure Certificate Company (FCC), a subsidiary of Figure Technology Solutions.

According to the firm, YLDS, a digital face-amount certificate, offers institutions the settlement profile of a stablecoin with the regulatory standing of a traditional fixed income instrument, and balances pegged to one US dollar plus accrued yield.

YLDS accrues daily at SOFR minus 0.35 per cent, paid monthly in either USD or YLDS, and has no settlement fees across the Provenance, Solana, and Stellar networks.

Karl Samsen, principal for YLDS at Figure, says: "Institutional demand for regulated, yield-bearing digital dollars keeps building, and custody integrations are where that demand gets met in practice.

“Through Komainu, clients hold a registered security that earns daily yield and can move as collateral within the same custody framework.”

The integration reflects the increasing demand among institutional investors for digital assets that combine regulatory clarity with the operational efficiency of onchain settlement and extends beyond straightforward custody, says the firm.

YLDS is eligible collateral within Komainu Connect, Komainu’s off-exchange settlement and collateral mobility infrastructure, which according to the firm positions YLDS as an active, yield-generating instrument within institutional portfolios, enabling clients to deploy it as collateral without sacrificing yield.

Komainu further explains that YLDS offers yield that moves with the market, because rather than being fixed its yield floats with the benchmark, recalibrates automatically as rates shift, and insulates holders from reinvestment risk tied to fixed-yield products.

Darren Jordan, chief commercial officer at Komainu, adds: “Institutional investors are increasingly looking for assets that can deliver both operational efficiency and economic utility without compromising on regulatory standards.

“By supporting custody for YLDS and enabling its use within Komainu Connect, we’re facilitating client’s utilisation of a registered, yield-bearing digital security that can remain productive while securely held in custody.”
