Mikro Kapital, a Luxembourg-based securitisation fund management company, has confirmed the full reimbursement and burn of its first tokenised bond with Bitfinex Securities.

This marks the completion of the token’s full lifecycle on the Bitcoin-based Liquid Network and, according to the firm, is a key milestone in ALTERNATIVE’s bond programme on Bitfinex Securities.

Michele Mattioda of Mikro Kapital says: “Tokenised bonds are more than financial innovation. They are a bridge for financial inclusion. By leveraging blockchain, we enhance transparency, efficiency and direct access to our opportunity, while directly empowering entrepreneurs in developing nations.

“The proceeds fund direct lending, leasing and mobility initiatives that help local businesses grow and communities thrive.”

ALTERNATIVE’s tokenised bonds portfolio has exceeded US$10 million-equivalent as of May 2025, reflecting growing investor confidence in blockchain-based, real-world asset (RWA) investment solutions, says Mikro Kapital.

According to Mikro Kapital, since launching its tokenisation programme in 2023, ALTERNATIVE fund has made impact investing simpler and more transparent through blockchain.

Jesse Knutson, head of operations at Bitfinex Securities, comments: “Mikro Kapital’s ongoing programme with Bitfinex Securities represents some of market’s very first, fully tokenised bonds, offering a bridge into the digital asset world by allowing investors to invest and receive coupon and principal repayments in USDT, as well as the ability to compliantly self-custody tokenised bonds and trade them on secondary markets.”
