Crown Agents Bank (CAB), the operating subsidiary of CAB Payments, has received authorisation from the Bank of Guyana to establish a permanent representative office in the country.
The office, expected to open in Georgetown during the second half of 2026, will mark CAB’s first permanent presence in South America.
According to the company, the office will support payment and foreign exchange flows across South America, the Caribbean, and other emerging markets.
CAB said the expansion forms part of its strategy to increase its presence in growth markets and strengthen relationships with public sector clients, financial institutions, and partners in the region.
The company added that it has operated in Guyana for more than 30 years.
CAB said it was one of three international financial institutions invited by the Central Bank of Guyana and the Ministry of Finance to establish a permanent presence in the country.
The Guyana office follows the opening of CAB’s representative office in New York in 2025 and its office in Abu Dhabi in 2026.
