Broadridge Financial Solutions has appointed Ian Williams to the newly created role of head of international, Broadridge Trading and Connectivity Solutions (BTCS).

Williams, who relocated from Toronto to London for this role, will retain his current responsibilities as global head of trading and execution product management. He will report to Brian Pomraning, BTCS chief product officer.

Commenting on the appointment, Mike Sleightholme, president of Broadridge International, states: “Our clients across EMEA and APAC are navigating increasing complexity in trading, execution, and market structure, and they need a partner who can bring integrated, globally consistent capabilities to bear.

“Ian brings deep practitioner expertise and a strong track record of translating that complexity into clear product strategy and client solutions.

“This expanded role will help us deliver greater focus and connectivity across our international BTCS business.”

Williams brings more than 30 years of experience spanning trading, market structure, and global product leadership to his new role.

Prior to joining Broadridge, he spent 16 years at Virtu Financial and ITG, holding senior leadership roles including CEO of the Canadian business and head of US execution services.

Earlier in his career, Williams spent over a decade at TD, as portfolio manager and head of trading at TD Asset Management.

Williams states: “Broadridge has built an exceptional platform in capital markets, and the international opportunity across EMEA and APAC is significant.

“I look forward to working closely with our clients and our global and regional teams to strengthen connectivity, improve execution, and support growth across the business.”

In his expanded role, Williams will work closely with global, regional, and country leaders to align priorities and accelerate growth across Broadridge’s trading and connectivity business in Europe and Asia-Pacific.
