Edward Ellis joins Clifton Asset Management as chief financial officer, taking over from Ellis Organ who retired after nearly 30 years at the business.
Based in London, Ellis will spend regular time with the finance team in Bristol.
According to the firm, the appointment comes as Clifton continues its programme of acquisitions across the UK advice market, buying financial businesses, and integrating them into its wider group.
Speaking on his appointment, Ellis says: “After spending the last few years helping fast growing wealth management businesses scale, I’m looking forward to partnering with colleagues across the business to support sustainable growth, bring strong commercial insight, and ensure we continue to create long-term value for clients and stakeholders.”
He continues: “What has impressed me most so far is the quality of the people and the ambition across the organisation, which gives Clifton a strong platform for its next phase of growth.”
Ellis holds a degree in Economics from the University of St Andrews and has more than 12 years of experience in the financial services industry, having most recently worked for Kingswood Group.
Neil Greenaway, CEO of Clifton, adds: “[Ellis] joins Clifton at an important moment for the business, and his mix of audit training and commercial finance experience will strengthen how we plan and grow.”
Greenaway continues: “He follows Ellis Organ, who has led our finance function for nearly three decades at Clifton AM and built the foundations we rely on today. We are grateful for everything Ellis has contributed over the years, and we wish him a long and happy retirement. Edward has already made a strong impression across the team, and I look forward to seeing what he brings to the role.”
