Ebury Institutional, a treasury solution provider for institutions, has bolstered its services with the addition of escrow and paying agent capabilities to manage the flow of funds in high-value, complex transactions.
The service allows Ebury Institutional to act as an independent intermediary, holding funds securely until all conditions of a deal are met, says the firm.
These services are provided across a wide range of scenarios including M&A, litigation, liquidations, sports, real estate, maritime, and global trade.
Ebury Institutional's escrow and paying agent services provide two core capabilities; escrow accounts — independent safeguarding of funds under agreed contractual terms, with controlled release upon satisfaction of predefined conditions; paying agent services — distribution of funds to recipients across jurisdictions and currencies.
Ebury will handle the complexity of verification, holding funds, and executing payments.
Beyond escrow and paying agent, Ebury Institutional supports institutions operating across borders with foreign exchange risk management, transactional accounts, and cash management.
With dedicated private markets knowledge in key fund jurisdictions, including Luxembourg, UK, the Channel Islands, Switzerland, Singapore and the UAE, the team says that it combines local expertise with a single global platform, helping clients navigate the complexities of cross-border money flows.
Daniel Dunne, head of Escrow and Paying agent Services at Ebury Institutional, says: “This launch reflects our commitment to giving clients the infrastructure they need for their most critical transactions.
“As deals grow more complex and scrutiny around client funds increases, law firms and other advisers need an independent partner who can take on that responsibility. It allows clients and their advisors to move through high-value transactions with confidence rather than managing the administrative burden and risk themselves.”
Menne Mennes, managing director for Ebury Institutional, adds: “Bringing escrow, paying agent, FX and transactional accounts under one offering removes the need to coordinate multiple providers on a single deal, giving clients and their legal advisers full visibility over funds at every stage of the deal.”
