Ocorian appoints manager director of Netherlands office

Michiel Munting will serve as the new managing director of Ocorian’s Netherlands office, taking on the role from Maarten van de Vaart, who is set to retire at the end of June.

van de Vaart started working at Ocorian in April 2018 as executive director.

In his new role, Munting will work alongside Marga Springingtveld and oversee all aspects of the business including service delivery, client care and business development.

He takes on the new role after joining Ocorian as internal compliance office in 2016.

With experience working across the banking, rail, maritime and transportation finance sectors, Munting has knowledge of the trust industry from his time working in commercial banking with Dutch and German banks.

More recently, he worked as an active compliance adviser and officer, supporting trust companies and family offices in the Netherlands.

Christophe Gaul, regional head of Europe and managing director of Luxembourg, says with Munting’s experience provides him with an excellent understanding of the wider business and the important role of our Netherlands office in facilitating funds and corporate services across Europe.

“Together with Marga, he will work closely with clients and individuals across our network to contribute to the strategic development of our service offering and I'm looking forward to him being a key voice in shaping our European proposition," Gaul adds.

Ocorian also expanded its European business development team last month with five new business development directors.

The new recruits included Natasha Head, Andrew Stewart, Chris Mayfield, Vivienne Fitzpatrick, and William Turmann.
