Northern Trust appoints Keane as Chapman becomes board member at ISSA

Northern Trust has appointed Aisling Keane as head of asset servicing for Hong Kong.

In the newly created role, Keane will lead Northern Trust’s asset servicing business in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. She will report to Angelo Calvitto, head of APAC.

Keane will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategic direction for the asset servicing business and providing suitable solutions to clients.

With 20 years of industry experience, Keane was most recently head of alternative investment solutions, APAC at State Street.

Prior to this, she was head of hedge fund services, APAC at BNP Paribas Securities Services, and director at Credit Suisse.

Commenting on Keane’s new role, Calvitto says: “We are pleased to welcome Aisling to the team.

“Her deep industry expertise, knowledge of the securities servicing industry, and business acumen will help us continue bringing value and expertise to the clients in the region and support their evolving needs.”

In addition, Northern Trust's Justin Chapman has been chosen to represent the company at the International Securities Services Association (ISSA).

Chapman is currently global head of digital assets and financial markets at Northern Trust. He has more than 20 years of experience in operations management, custody, banking, asset management, securities, technology, among other areas.

On accepting the nomination, Chapman says: “I am pleased to be joining the ISSA board as we have seen the change that it has driven both within ISSA but, more importantly, in increasing ISSA’s relevance to the global securities market.

"I look forward to working with the Board and team, in helping to shape the future of the global securities services industry.”
