Gen II Fund Services, a provider of tech-enabled fund administration, has appointed Besmira Uruçi as executive director in its Luxembourg office.
Uruçi brings more than 13 years of legal and regulatory experience across fund administration, alternate investment fund manager (AIFM) services, AML, compliance, fund marketing and distribution, delegation oversight and governance.
A lawyer by training and a Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier approved AIFM conducting officer, she has held senior leadership roles across the fund administration and investment management industry.
Prior to joining Gen II, Uruçi served as board member in the AIFM — managing director of a European fund services provider.
She has also led the risk and compliance activities at group level for a Luxembourg-based venture capital firm, where she played a key role in launching the group’s Luxembourg operations and establishing new AIFM and compliance frameworks.
Commenting on her appointment, Michael Johnson, chief commercial officer at Gen II says: “Besmira’s deep regulatory knowledge and entrepreneurial leadership will be invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve our Luxembourg presence.
“Her proven track record in building compliant, client-focused fund services operations aligns with our strategic goals.”
