Platform One, a regulated wealthtech platform, has appointed Geoff Towers as a non-executive director.
Towers brings more than 40 years of experience across the platform, wealth, and investment sectors, having held a number of senior leadership positions throughout his career.
He previously served as CEO of BNY’s Pershing businesses in the UK and Europe, Standard Life Savings and GPP.
He is also currently a non-executive director at the Personal Investment Management and Financial Advice Association (PIMFA).
Towers joins a board that includes former Ascentric and Cofunds chief Clive Boothman, alongside fintech entrepreneurs Felicia Meyerowitz-Singh and Phil Hollingdale, who previously led Akoni and Cushon respectively.
Platform One CEO Alex Cowan-Sanluis and chief technology officer David Cassettari also sit on the board.
Commenting on his appointment, Towers says: “Platform One is uniquely placed to make big headway in the market. Having put in a lot of hard work building a robust proposition that can serve clients with smaller pots through to larger clients with complex tax and investment needs, it’s got massive potential to continue growing and serving different types of wealth businesses.”
Cowan-Sanluis adds: “Geoff brings a serious amount of platform experience. He knows exactly what it takes to be successful in this market. Having him on board is not only a big vote of confidence in our proposition and business, but he will be a fantastic source of expertise and knowledge as we grow our services and client base.”
