ModernRails has appointed Raghu Sastry as chief technology officer.
In his new role, Sastry will lead the firm’s technology strategy, platform architecture, and product innovation, with a mandate to scale the company’s orchestration capabilities across both domestic and cross-border payment rails.
The firm says Sastry will also focus on advancing the company’s ISO 20022-native architecture, enabling data interoperability and driving real-time orchestration across key global rails.
Sastry brings over two decades of technical leadership, across fintech, enterprise infrastructure, semiconductors, and mobile platforms with a technical background in VLSI design, distributed systems, server and storage architecture, and payments and compliance infrastructure.
Prior to ModernRails, Sastry served as vice president of technology at FinTech Automation where he worked to build its infrastructure platform, says the firm.
Additionally, Sastry previously held senior engineering and leadership roles at Agilent Technologies, PMC-Sierra, Junowallet, and Zeuss technologies, where he led development of scalable, production-grade systems.
Speaking on the appointment, David Park, CEO of ModernRails, says: “Raghu operates at the intersection of performance engineering and financial infrastructure.
“We are not building another payments application — we are building the control layer for how money moves globally. Raghu's experience designing high-performance systems at scale is exactly what is required to execute on that vision.”
Sastry comments: “Global payments are still constrained by fragmented systems and asynchronous processes.”
He furthers: “The opportunity is to redefine how financial institutions operate at scale, with data-driven orchestration and embedded intelligence at the core.”
