REGIS-TR applies for RRM registration

Trade repository REGIS-TR has submitted its application to become a registered reporting mechanism (RRM) to the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER).

Registration would ensure the required coordination and consistency in terms of monitoring activities that fall under the regulation on energy market integrity and transparency (REMIT).

The application comes as a response to demand from REGIS-TR’s participants, 10 percent of which are involved in the wholesale of energy markets.

Irene Mermigidis, managing director at REGIS-TR, said: "We are delighted to have submitted our application to ACER.

She added: “REGIS-TR is a neutral player whose sole raison d’être is trade reporting and is already regulated to the highest European regulatory standards. This makes us the natural choice for our participants, and the REMIT reporting only underlines REGIS-TR’s position as the pre-eminent ‘one-stop-shop’ for all European regulatory reporting requirements."

Reporting of standardised contracts is scheduled to commence on 7 October. Reporting for non-standardised contracts will begin in April 2016.
