Waterfront Capital Partners, an alternative investment manager focused on commercial real estate credit investments, has expanded its relationship with IQ-EQ.

Waterfront has adopted the integrated operating model offered through IQ-EQ's collaboration with FundStudio, a cloud-based portfolio operations and reporting platform for alternative investment managers.

The combined solution brings together IQ-EQ's middle office services with FundStudio's portfolio operations and reporting platform, aiming to create a coordinated operating environment to support Waterfront's growing structured credit business.

Waterfront says that its decision reflects a broader shift across alternative investments as managers seek operating models that bring together specialised expertise, connected technology, and trusted data rather than relying on multiple disconnected providers.

Andrew Katz, chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Waterfront Capital Partners, says: Through this collaboration, we’ve been able to optimise a reporting process that used to take several days down to a matter of hours.

“We were looking for an operating model that could scale alongside the business while giving us faster access to the critical information we need to make investment decisions. Bringing together IQ-EQ and FundStudio accomplishes that.”

Arjuna Darmarajah, director of Client Services at FundStudio, adds: “Clean, connected data has become foundational to how investment firms operate. Technology is only as effective as the quality of the information behind it.

“By bringing operational and investment data together in one environment, firms gain faster insights and are better positioned to respond to changing markets and increasing operational complexity.”

Dan Miller, head of Business Development, Middle Office, Hedge Fund and chief financial officer services, Americas at IQ-EQ, comments: “As investment strategies become more complex, managers need partners that can adapt alongside them.

“Bringing together experienced operational teams with connected technology gives firms access to the clean, reliable data they need to make faster decisions and operate more efficiently. The complexity of today's markets makes an integrated approach far more valuable than managing each function separately.”
