Ctrl Alt Technologies, a tokenisation infrastructure provider and operator, has received Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) authorisation from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI).

The approval allows the firm to provide regulated investment services and handle securities throughout the nation, and to passport its services across the European Economic Area (EEA).

Ctrl Alt will serve institutions, asset managers, and capital allocators within Ireland and offer its tokenised financial products to investors as a regulated entity.

The company says the licensing is indicative of its multi-jurisdictional approach, following authorisations from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Dubai’s Virtual Assets Service Provider (VASP).

Commenting on the regulatory approval, Matt Ong, founder and group CEO at Ctrl Alt, says: “We have a long-standing presence here, with a significant proportion of our team based in Ireland, and we see real momentum building across the market.

“The funds industry in particular is moving towards tokenisation, and this authorisation positions us to support that shift as it develops across Ireland and the EEA.”

Jordan McMullen, CEO, Ireland at Ctrl Alt, adds: “The Irish authorisation also opens the EEA to us, and each licence assures clients that our activity is conducted under established supervision wherever they engage with us, strengthening our standing as we scale across Europe.”
