Blockstream Capital Partners (BCP) has announced its planned acquisition of equities hedge fund manager Corbiere Capital Management, led by Rodrigo Rodriguez.
The transaction will be supported by Komainu, an existing BCP investment, which will provide corporate support, exchange connectivity, collateral management, and custodial services.
Rodriguez, appointed as BCP’s chief investment officer, has over 25 years of experience across a range of financial institutions, including JPMorgan, Credit Suisse, and BlueCrest, in addition to founding Corbiere Capital Management in 2023.
BCP says its acquisition of Corbiere reinforces its strategy of bridging TradFi with bitcoin-native capabilities.
Commenting on the acquisition, PeterPaul Pardi, managing partner of Blockstream Capital Partners, says: “Rod and the Corbiere team joining us is testament to the strength of the platform we are building.”
Rodriguez adds: “Joining BCP as a cornerstone of its asset management offering is a unique opportunity, and we are excited to work together with the aim of generating superior risk-adjusted returns for investors.”
Komainu CEO Paul Frost-Smith says: “We are excited to be working with BCP on this important initiative for the bitcoin ecosystem.”
