One Trading, the European regulated derivatives trading venue, announces an investment from Nasdaq Ventures.

The firms say the investment creates a foundation to explore future areas of collaboration and reflects a focus on continued modernisation of global capital markets.

One Trading’s unified deterministic trading, risk, and settlement platform supports cross-collateral netting, continuous settlement, and auto-liquidations at scale, says the firm, removing the need for a mutualised default fund.

Speaking on the investment, Joshua Barraclough, CEO of One Trading, says: “We believe the future of derivatives markets will be shaped by advances in technology, risk management, and market infrastructure that make markets more efficient, responsive, and resilient.

“Together, we see an opportunity to explore new approaches to derivatives innovation and help define the next generation of market infrastructure.”

Gary Offner, global head of Nasdaq Ventures, adds: “One Trading has developed a differentiated approach to integrating trading, risk management, and settlement, and we believe the company is well positioned to play an important role in the evolution of derivatives markets.”
