Swift has announced the members of its newly created Supervisory Board, bringing in senior industry leaders and independent members from across global banking, payments securities, market infrastructures, technology, risk, and corporate governance.

The firm explains the Supervisory Board is designed to address the rapidly evolving financial services landscape, meet the global financial community’s priorities, and strengthen trust in the cross-border ecosystem.

Swift says the board will shape the future roadmap of the blockchain-based ledger, accelerate transaction services, and work with Swift’s management to address growing AI influences and security surrounding them.

The firm outlines the Supervisory Board is comprised of the chair, four independent directors, 10 shareholder-affiliated directors from across Swift’s global community, and will be supported by a management board chaired by Swift CEO Javier Pérez-Tasso.

Graeme Munro, chair of the Supervisory Board at Swift, comments: “The new Supervisory Board brings extensive international experience spanning payments, securities, technology, operations, and the public sector; expertise that will help Swift and its community keep elevating the global transaction experience while integrating new forms of value and strengthening operational excellence and resilience.”

The members of the Supervisory Board are: Graeme Munro, Ahmed Abdelaal, Arthur Ambrose, Francisco Aristeguieta, Dilip Asbe, Burkhard Balz, Inge Boets, Patrick Colle, Manish Kohli, Laura Mather, Mark Monaco, Noritoshi Murakami, Rima Qureshi, Michael Spiegel, and Yu Sun.
