A new AI-powered search function — iLEVEL Document Search — that allows private market investment professionals to research investment papers for key information using native language prompts has been released by S&P Global Market Intelligence.

iLEVEL Document Search engages AI-driven data extraction technology to enable users to study key influences affecting portfolio performance.

It provides the means for asset managers to inquire into board decks, quarterly financials, annual financials and fund financials.

The search engine’s features include natural language querying, annotations linking data points with sources, and permissions-based search results to maintain confidentiality.

iLEVEL seeks to tap into a demand for more comprehensive portfolio intelligence, amid the trend of private equity firms carrying a substantial amount of liquid assets while current portfolios are held in extended stagnation.

Christopher Sparenberg, head of iLEVEL at S&P Global Market Intelligence says: "With deal flow at multi-year lows and exit windows tightening, the firms that will thrive are those that can unlock the 'unknown unknowns' in their existing portfolios to create differentiated value."

iLevel was established in 2010 as a private markets portfolio management solution to help simplify processes for data collection, valuation and reporting workflows.
