BitGo has integrated with derivatives exchange Derive Labs in a bid to expand institutional access to onchain options and perpetual futures.

Eligible institutional clients will gain access to Derive’s onchain derivatives markets, with collateral held at US-chartered BitGo Bank & Trust.

The initiative follows a model that separates asset custody from trade execution, through which the firms intend to reduce exchange counterparty exposure, asset commingling risk, and operational complexity while supporting more capital-efficient onchain markets.

Speaking on the integration, Adam Sporn, head of institutional sales and prime brokerage at BitGo, says: “As new sources of liquidity emerge, our goal is to enable clients to maintain a consistent, trusted custody and operational framework while accessing execution that best fits their strategy.”

Nick Forster, founder and CEO of Derive, adds: “By integrating with BitGo, clients can access Derive’s liquidity and capital-efficient margin system while keeping their underlying assets within the custody framework their risk and compliance teams already trust.”

BitGo says that it remains committed to flexible trade options, while preserving operational controls and risk management standards.
