The International Securities Services Association (ISSA) welcomes ICBC Bank as a new member.
According to ISSA, membership grants the opportunity to shape the industry through collaboration, engage in the ISSA Working Groups, attend the ISSA Symposium, and become industry leaders.
The firm reports that ICBC (Asia) is recognised as one of Hong Kong’s Designated Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs), and is the largest wholly-owned overseas subsidiary of ICBC.
Further, ICBC was the first bank to establish a custody business in China in 1998, and has maintained its position in the country’s custody industry for 28 years, says the firm.
ICBC (Asia) states it has provided custody services since 2007 and trustee services through its wholly-owned subsidiary, ICBC (Asia) Trustee, since 2012.
IBCB reports its total assets under custody reached US$5.1 trillion at the end of September 2026, serving nearly 30,000 domestic and overseas clients across the direct financing market.
Additionally, ICBC (Asia) says it has over HK$1.8 trillion (US$650 billion) in assets under custody, and provides custody services to a range of clients including global sovereign institutions, central banks, state-owned enterprises, insurance companies, asset managers, commercial banks, and brokers.
