Broadridge and Dinari have integrated the enablement of eligible holders of Diari’s dShares to exercise shareholder voting rights through Broadridge's proxy voting structure.

The integration connects tokenised US equities to the proxy voting processes used in traditional capital markets, says the firms, and allows eligible dShare holders exercise voting rights alongside traditional shareholders.

Additionally, the firms note votes are counted alongside those cast by traditional shareholders.

Doug DeSchutter, president of the Investor Communications Solutions business at Broadridge, says: “Broadridge is bringing trusted governance infrastructure onchain to Dinari’s clients. We are building the governance layer to support all models of tokenized equities, including Dinari’s custodial model, that preserves the shareholder rights associated with underlying securities.”

DeShutter notes the announcement is the “latest step in ensuring investors have access to accurate, institutional-grade governance.”

Broadridge states the launch with Dinari builds on its onchain proxy voting capabilities, which they say is the first platform in the US to support all models of tokenisation, including custodial tokenised securities and issue-sponsored tokens.

Gabriel Otte, co-founder and CEO of Dinari, comments: “Tokenisation should expand how securities are accessed and used without compromising the rights that come with ownership. Our custodial model was built around that principle.

“By working with Broadridge, we're enabling dShare holders to participate in actual shareholder votes. This is an important step toward bringing the full functionality of public equities to tokenised markets.”

As the platform evolves, the firms explain shareholders, including dShare holders, will be able to log in and authenticate with their digital wallet to prove their entitlements and vote their proxy ballots directly.
