BNP Paribas’ Securities Services business has announced the renewal of the mandate with la Cassa Nazionale di Previdenza ed Assistenza a Favore dei Ragionieri e Periti Commerciali (CNPR) — a mandatory social security and welfare institution for Italian accountants — as its depositary bank.
BNP Paribas’ Securities Services business provides CNPR with custodian banking services and securities services for total assets of approximately €2.5 billion, for additional five years.
The initial partnership started in 2019 following a public tender offer launched by CNPR.
Andrea Cattaneo, head of Italy, Switzerland, and Iberia, Securities Services, BNP Paribas, says: “The renewal of the mandate by CNPR is an important recognition for us and the testimony of a trust relationship built over the years. The Italian pension sector has always been a strategic area for our Securities Services business.
“It is a market where we have been operating for over 20 years alongside pension institutions, with a constant commitment to developing innovative solutions to support the management and protection of the assets of the members.
“We will continue to invest in technology, skills, and value-added services, to support CNPR in an increasingly complex and constantly evolving market context.”
Giuseppe Scolaro, general manager of CNPR, adds: “This mandate renewal demonstrates our great satisfaction and confirms the validity of our partnership started a few years ago.
“Amid the current market conditions, the solidity and competence of our partner represent a fundamental guarantee for the protection of the fund's assets and, consequently, of the social security benefits of our members.
“We will continue to look to the future with the same attention and the same rigour that have always distinguished the management of our institution.”
