Sonata One has established a local office in Luxembourg with a team of private markets specialists across compliance, transfer agency, and investor servicing.
The firm says that the move marks a major milestone in their growth as they work towards regulatory authorisation in one of the world’s leading private funds jurisdictions.
They also add that this reflects their commitment to supporting their clients as a trusted globally compliant partner across all key private funds jurisdictions including Luxembourg, the Channel Islands, the Cayman Islands, and the US.
Subject to regulatory approval, Sonata’s Luxembourg business will provide fund subscription, Know Your Customer (KYC), Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act/Common Reporting Standard (FATCA/CRS), and ongoing anti-money laundering (AML) officer support, while serving as the home of Sonata One’s new transfer agency service.
Leading the Luxembourg operation is Mark Coppin, managing director, Luxembourg.
Coppin brings more than 30 years’ experience in asset management and private funds.
Coppin says: “Luxembourg is one of the world’s most important private markets hubs and we’re excited to be building our presence here.
“As managers continue to raise capital across more jurisdictions, they need partners that simplify complexity rather than add to it.
“By combining local expertise with Sonata One’s technology platform, we’re helping managers streamline fundraising and fund operations while delivering a better experience for investors.”
Tim Andrews, CEO at Sonata One, adds: “Managers raising capital across jurisdictions shouldn’t have to stitch together multiple providers, request the same investor data, or navigate different standards at every stage of the fund lifecycle.
“Sonata One brings it all together through one platform, with one Investor Passport and now a fully integrated Transfer Agency service.
“Establishing an office with a sizeable local team in Luxembourg is a major milestone in our global growth strategy, strengthening our ability to help managers raise capital faster, stay compliant, and deliver a seamless experience for their investors wherever they raise and manage funds.”
