The Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) engaged Exactpro as an independent software testing specialist to support the launch of its new proprietary Warsaw Automated Trading System (WATS).
GPW WATS is set to replace the Universal Trading Platform from NYSE Technologies (UTP) which has powered GPW's markets for more than 10 years.
The final stage of the migration is expected to take place in October 2026.
GPW says that the transition marks a significant milestone for it that reflects a strategic investment in developing and owning its core trading infrastructure as well as reinforcing the technological foundations of the national capital market.
Exactpro specialises in providing deep, objective technical intelligence about the behaviour of complex systems across capital markets, where the firm has facilitated technology transformation initiatives for over 16 years.
Ahead of the launch, GPW engaged Exactpro to carry out independent testing of the platform, including comprehensive functional testing across trading workflows.
The Functional Testing programme has been successfully completed, and Exactpro has confirmed the platform's functional readiness for GPW's planned production launch in October 2026.
S?awomir Panasiuk, vice-president of GPW, says: “GPW WATS represents years of dedicated work by our in-house engineering teams. The migration is a vital step towards modernising the exchange infrastructure, so that local and international participants can benefit from even more efficiency and flexibility.
“Working with Exactpro throughout the independent testing process has been a source of valuable insights as we prepare for the production launch planned in October.”
Alexey Zverev, co-CEO and co-founder of Exactpro, adds: “We are honoured to have been selected as an independent software testing services provider by the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
“On this engagement, we continued to apply our expertise in production-aligned testing tailored to client infrastructures to contribute to further improving the integrity of the end-to-end trading workflow and business rules implemented in the system.
“GPW has a highly competent engineering team, it’s been a pleasure to work alongside them at this pivotal moment in the venue’s life.”
