Broadridge has appointed Theo Golden to a newly created role as head of Tokenized Product, International.
Based in London, Golden will lead the development of tokenised products across Broadridge’s international markets, covering capital markets, funds, and other tokenised assets.
He will also support the firm’s corporate development activities, including mergers and acquisitions, and strategic venture investments in digital assets.
Golden joins Broadridge from Baillie Gifford, where he served as head of Digital Assets and was responsible for developing the firm’s digital asset strategy and operating model.
During his time at Baillie Gifford, he launched the Baillie Gifford Enhanced Yield (BAGEY) fund, which the firm says was the UK’s first fully native tokenised fund.
The fund was issued on Ethereum and Solana and uses onchain books and records as its legal source of truth.
Prior to leading Baillie Gifford’s digital asset activities, Golden co-managed its Strategic Bond Fund and worked as a multi-asset investment analyst.
Earlier in his career, he worked at Business Insider, Bloomberg, and Acuris.
Commenting on his appointment, Golden says: “Global markets are moving quickly as frameworks for tokenised funds and securities evolve.
“Broadridge is exceptionally well positioned to deliver the trusted, resilient and interoperable infrastructure clients need to move from experimentation to real-world adoption.”
Golden will report to Mark Nichols, co-president, Digital Assets at Broadridge, and will work with the firm’s digital assets, international, asset management, and engineering teams.
Nichols comments: “Tokenisation is moving mainstream, and clients need infrastructure that can make tokenised products work compliantly at scale.
“Theo combines deep experience in traditional finance with a proven ability to build first-of-its-kind tokenised products in a regulated environment.”
